Muğla Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to fight against the vector with a large team of veterinarians, agricultural engineers, chemists and biologists throughout the province.   

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to work in many areas to ensure that citizens and guests in Muğla have a more comfortable summer, has also intensified its efforts in the fight against vectors, which is one of the important areas. While the teams continue to work in the field for field studies, disinfection and physical precautions, in support of these studies, on-board cold fogging application will continue uninterruptedly throughout the summer months, as long as the weather conditions are favorable.

It is a very important issue to inform the public about the Asian Tiger fly and how to combat this fly.
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality teams determined that, unlike other mosquitoes, it prefers to bite during the day, its bite point is more prominent and it has large scars. Asian Tiger Fly (Aedes Albopictus), an aggressive species that leaves the sea, was detected in 74 points in Marmaris, Bodrum and Göcek in 2020. Since 2021, the Asian Tiger Fly has been seen to spread throughout the province, being very dense in the coastal districts from Bodrum to Antalya.  While the metropolitan municipality teams are working on this issue, they are informing citizens about the measures that can be taken to reduce reproduction. 
 80 Percent of Mosquito Breeding Areas are septic tanks, utensils, pots, pots and waterers. It was determined by the Metropolitan Municipality teams that at least 80 percent of mosquito breeding sources are septic tanks, pots and pans, flower pots, drinking bowls, water storage containers, jerrycans, soft drink bottles, accumulated water from irrigation systems, ornamental pools, water left in cemeteries and similar places. was done. 
 Concerning the fight against mosquitoes and especially the Asian Tiger Fly; The water containers given to the animals must be renewed once a week, the water accumulated in the flower pots should be poured out, water should not be collected in open containers, bottles and buckets in the environment, air conditioner collection water should be poured frequently, the lids of the septic tanks should be corrected to prevent mosquitoes from entering and exited, and in cemeteries, jugs and buckets with open mouths should not be collected. It was stated that simple precautions such as not leaving water in containers are of great importance in the fight.
