‘Animal Rights; Not One Day, Every Day!'

Muğla Nature and Animal Rights Platform Coordinator, Marmaris Animal Rights Association (MAHAKDER) President and Local Animal Protection Officer Tülay Yıldız, 4 October World Animal Rights in Marmaris He shared his thoughts about the events organized within the scope of Human Rights Day. Tülay Yıldız touched upon important issues in her speech.

'Let's Love Every Day, Let's Protect Every Day!'

'First of all, I would like to thank the Pinocchio Kindergarten teachers, they are all very animal lovers and they instill this in children. Seeing our students and children grow up consciously gave us hope for the future. Especially during our event, our child Özüm, who read the poem she wrote herself, was crying and praying for the improvement of the lives and rights of animals. Today, our children showed us that Young Animal Rights defenders are coming with a roar. The only thing I can say to future generations is, 'Let's love and protect animals not just one day, but every day!'

'Children Should Visit Shelter Animals More Often!'

Tülay Yıldız; 'Unfortunately, our animals and shelters are remembered only on October 4 every year, and we are very sorry about this. As MAHAKDER, we love animals not just one day, but every day, and defend their rights every day. And as associations, we really work hard to do these things. Especially our young children and students need to visit our animal shelters frequently along with their schools. These visits are of great importance in increasing children's love for animals and awareness of responsibility. Spending time with animals in shelters, seeing and understanding their living conditions, develops children's sense of empathy.'

'There are no dogs on the streets in Marmaris!'

'Our dogs are given birth at home, unfortunately, mother dogs are with their puppies. In fact, the puppies are left alone in shelters, and due to the bad conditions, they get sick and cannot survive long. Therefore, at this point, the municipality and our institutions have a great responsibility. We want our dogs in our shelters to be neutered and returned to their owners. We also want to support animal owners and allocate a budget for this important humanitarian event. While shelters should only be used for dogs to be rehabilitated, they have become places where dogs collected from the streets are imprisoned. There are no dogs on the streets! We invite municipalities and institutions to take action! Really, scientific and conscientious solutions should be produced for our animals, and we will always support them!'
