Bicycle enthusiasts pedaled for Klaus Schmidt

The group of 100 cyclists set out in the city center and reached Göbeklitepe by pedaling for approximately 20 kilometers. Cycling enthusiasts had the opportunity to visit the Göbeklitepe ruins. Merve Ofluoğlu, Head of the Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Tourism Department, who spearheaded the event, said: “We plan to hold this event at a more comprehensive national and international level every year. Because Göbeklitepe is our face to the world and we always remember Klaus Schmidt, who brought this to us, with mercy and we will continue to remember his name,” he said.
Şanlıurfa Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Aydın Aslan, Prof. Dr. Schmidt's contributions to human history, especially Göbeklitepe, were emphasized.
